Chef Helena Gustavsson Giesea
Helena was born in Sweden and came to San Francisco in
the spring of 2001 where she met her husband Spencer.
After completing an A.S. Degree in Culinary Arts and
Food Service Management at the City of San Francisco
and taking an internship in Hubert Keller's kitchen at
Fleur de Lys, Helena & Spencer moved up to Sonoma
wine country.
Helena worked at the Farm House Inn & Restaurant in
Forestville as a concierge, event planner, server &
hostess for 1,5 year, parallel with being a part of the
opening team for Cyrus in Healdsburg, where she stayed
on as a back server for 6 months.
In the spring of '06, after one month of renovating and
decorating, the couple opened up Charizma in Guerneville.
Helena has also a "hobby side" of the business, where
she teaches Culinary Classes and Nutrition. You can also
tune in her radio show, Helena's Kitchen on KGGV FM
95.1 Saturdays at noon.
